Even though most of these restaurants are located in Kane County, there are a couple that are located in McHenry County that you will want to be sure to try!

Mockingbird Bar + Garden offers “healthy food with a stylish flair.” It prides itself on creating a lively atmosphere that promotes community and building memorable experiences. In addition to its indoor dining area, Mockingbird boasts a cozy, dog-friendly patio, too—so be sure to bring your pup along with you if you ever decide to stop by for lunch or a cocktail!

Located right off S Randall Road, Old Republic Kitchen & Bar is a family-friendly establishment focused on American cuisine and “specialties from all over the country.” Old Republic frequently provides live entertainment for its guests, along with (our personal favorite) Yappy Hour! Yappy Hour is a weekly event held in the restaurant’s dog-friendly patio, where 5 hours are devoted to pets and their owners with live music, treats, discounted drinks, and giveaways.

Established in 1964, Port Edward offers “a unique dining experience with a nautical flair.” And they aren’t kidding—Port Edward boasts a dockside patio and bar that is perfect for an evening summer hangout. You can expect cold drinks, live music, and a laid-back atmosphere with a great view of the river. Delectable seafood, steaks, sandwiches, and poultry are all on the menu at Port Edward.

Their pet-friendly beer garden and patio is not just a place to kick back and enjoy a brew with your pup by your side; it’s also where you can enjoy live entertainment and an easy-going atmosphere among friends. Scorched Earth is not a restaurant per se, but they do host local food trucks weekly offering all kinds of tasty options, including burgers, lobster sandwiches, and homemade barbecue.

H3: Sew Hop’d Brewery in Huntley, IL

Huntley’s hometown brewery, Sew Hop’d, offers a family atmosphere where tradition, creativity, and tasty brews meet for a unique taproom experience. Housed in an old dairy production facility and sharing space with a former industrial sewing machine factory, Sew Hop’d brings a slice of old-style Americana to the 21st century with specially crafted IPAs, Bavarian-style wheat beers, milk stouts, and pilsners, to name a few. Sew Hop’d may not have its own kitchen, but it partners with food trucks (like Taco Madre and Happy Lobster) to bring fresh, delicious cuisine to its patrons.

Pets are more than welcome on their patio, where you can enjoy live music and other events, like Poses and Pints (yoga)!
