Uta deHaas, DVM

Dr. Uta deHaas obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 at Purdue University in Indiana following her undergraduate work in biology and philosophy at Marian College in Indianapolis. Originally from eastern Germany, Uta's dream of becoming a veterinarian was prompted by her love of animals and a television show about a veterinarian and her horse. After obtaining her doctorate, Dr. deHaas worked in general medicine and emergency care in Anderson, Indiana and joined the Dundee Animal Hospital team in September 2006. Dr. deHaas enjoys her work with companion animals and is most interested in animal behavior. She shares her home with a dressage and cross country horse, Legacy, three dogs, Bo, Sheba and Simon, six cats, Smudge, Hera, Maja, Athena, Dottie and Oliver, a bunny named Hershey, a ferret, Ava, two chickens, Hester and Silky and her husband Mike.
