Dr. Rusley was born and raised in North Dakota and attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota for his undergraduate degree. After completing his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 1980, he was in private practice in California for two years. He returned to the Midwest to serve an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois, and then joined the Dundee Animal Hospital team in 1983.
Dr. Rusley shares his home with four Golden Retrievers and his cat. In his spare time, Dr. Rusley is involved in the hobby of dog agility, and travels with his dogs to participate in this sport.
