Dr. Maras joined Dundee Animal Hospital in 1993 after completing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University. She continues to develop her interest in gerontology by collaborating with the Gerald P. Murphy Cancer Foundation’s, Center for Exceptional Longevity Studies by studying the oldest dogs in the US to better understand the secrets behind cancer resistance and highly successful aging.
Dr. Maras shares her home with three cats: Monica, Aarangie and Sissy, but dreams someday of having the time to own a female Rottweiler named Peaches. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, home remodeling and swimming.
